Hi, all!
Very busy doing some remodeling on my house...catching up on 20+ years of deferred maintenance.
Also, busy with my garden. Homegrown cucumbers and heirloom tomatoes...YUM!!!!
Back to walking a challenging course of varying upward and downward slopes in my neighborhood first thing each morn, around 6-7 am. Turns out, I just needed very inexpensive OCT Scholl's arch supports for my elderly high arches to carry my heavy bod. This alone has produced a significant increase in exercise/activity tolerance and decrease in fatigue.
Have been using a Total gym to build up strength and flexibility. This also seems to help get my lymphatic system moving more efficiently. This equipment can be gotten used free or cheap from Crag's list and other sources. Best to get one with the four extra attachments, they are hard to come by separately and really desirable. [I don't have them yet, but wish I did!]
Now that I have a way to safely increase strength and do more challenging aerobic "sprints" on this equipment, things are improving further.
I still do the basic 1-2 lbs ES and 1-3 small US containers of H2O2 baths regularly, 2-6 times a week, depending on how I feel. For some reason, do not seem to need much/any cold splash after them any more. Still feel fine, and pH fine also.
This really helps when I start isolating and working new muscle groups on the TG. For one who spent decades in stiff FMS misery after any significant amount of physical activity, it is AWESOME to not even feel normal aches and pains after working out and even feel energised!!!
Another recent change is much more raw food [50-70%], much less dairy. Only goat milk yogurt once a day now, and a bit of cheese very rarely. No plain goat milk. Lots more fruit, probably a good half or more of my summer diet.
Current alk drink is one heaping T BSM, 4 T lime-water, 1 rounded tsp laminaria digitata kelp powder, enough ACV to make it a bit sour and viscous, then around 1/8 tsp ES. I still check my pH several times a day, and this drink lasts me 1-2 days, depending on what I am eating. Since I eat quite a bit of this same kelp in my daily soup, and sometimes have canned cold-water fish mixed with powdered dulce as well, my needs for the alk drink can vary even if my foods are of consistent quality.
Weather has been very weird here, food from farmer's market of unpredictable quality. Regular use of my refractometer has allowed me to purchase extra of the best quality to preserve and avoid anything less than average. That seems to have banished the mysterious "crashes" that were allegedly due to FMS.
Even with eating lots of cold-water fish and taking cod liver oil, my latest test for vit D was extremely low. As a result, I have cut back on the amount of calcium in my alk drink and cautiously added a bit of vit D. So far, seems to be aiding strength and endurance without throwing off my pH. Will be trying to get Kaiser to retest me after one month to get an idea how things have changed...just as an adjunct to paying attention to how I am feeling and my pH.
Would be VERY interested in ML's comments on any or all of the above.
