There is a growing trend in the natural health community to question vegetarians and blame vegetarians who are in poor health for not eating meat.

Meat really isn't an essential part of the diet. The protein in meat is broken down to amino acids-- the exact same amino acids you can get from plant foods. Many vegetarians get into trouble because they eat too many carbs, not enough protein, no B-12, too much soy, and too many processed foods.

If you are not achieving the results you want on a vegan or raw vegan diet, I highly encourage you to investigate kefir before switching to meat. One 8 glass of kefir contains over 20 grams of easily digestible protein, ample B-12, and loads of probiotics that easily implant into the gut.

I was a vegan for over 5 years, and I gave it up after not achieving the thriving health I wanted. Kefir is a power-food that provides strength and vigor. Check out the kefir forum for more information.

Kefir may give many of you the edge you need to stick with the vegetarian diet.
