I personally chase each Epsom Salt dose with a full glass of plain water, then take an additional glass of water midway between the Epsom Salt doses. I drink a large glass of water an hour after the second dose, but then don't drink anymore before taking the olive oil. I don't want any liquid or food on my stomach when that olive oil hits it, since there is a chance it could cause me to be nauseous. If/when I get up in the night to use the bathroom, on my way back to bed I stop and drink a glass or two of water.
