And yes, it would be lovely if we could get past appearances, wouldn't it?

And don't worry about those people, they weren't your friends anyway. I heard a quote once, something to the effect of if it takes more than one hand to count the true friends you've made in this life, you are extraordinarily blessed.

Had you never had that hardship, you might not have ever learned that, and still be lollygagging about with those hangers-on and wannabes... :)

And I think to myself, why am I looking for the positive in this story? Because it's absolutely disgusting that you were so poisoned.

Because we have to look for the good, it is there. Don't lose faith.
