Hi everyone

I've been reading this forum on and off for a few months and have found it very enlightening.

Although my background is mainly caucasion i have a mediterranean 'streak' which means i have dark hair and olive skin and so have dark hair on my arms, legs etc. I also have quite a lot of very fine hair on my face (cheeks and upper lip) and some fine hair on my chest.

I've had successful laser treatment on the legs, bikini, underarm ... and have bleached the hair on my face and chest since i was a teenager (i'm now 41). However, since coming off the pill a couple of years ago, i've had ongoing skin problems (acne) which i never had as a teenager. I also feel the hair on my face has got thicker although it's still very fine.

I also have qutie a few - and getting more - strong hairs on my chin which i pluck. i've had some electrolysis on these over the years, but as i pluck between treatments (naughty i know but i think you all understand how difficult it is to have visible dark hair on your face) i'm not sure if these are new strong hairs or whether the electrolysis hasnt worked on them all.

I have a few questions - excuse me if the answers have been published elsewhere on the forum:

1. is Vaniqa available now in the UK and does anyone have any links to good articles about it that discuss side effects etc

2. i assume that perhaps my increase in facial hair is due to my age and the fact that i've come off a high oestrogen pill.... i'm very reluctant to do anything about the soft hairs on my face even though the growth is getting worse. i'm very self conscious about it but i know that waxing or shaving will make it worse. Is there any indication, or anything i can read about increase in hair on the face as you get older, relating to how much worse it's likely to get?
