I tend to agree with #99262 , that regardless of the reality of events, it seems to me she is traumatized by the previous childhood experience. Treatment should concentrate of the possible nutritional and health factors that affects her continued feelings of stress in the here and now.

and ask to be referred to a Nutritional Doctor, Clinical Nutritionist or Nutritional Psychologist, if self-help therapy fails.
