What is the ideal diet and why?
Veganism has its problems, like the B12 issue, so I don't think this would work long term.
Fruitarianism has its problems, like causing mineral depletion/wasting. The article on Dr.Bass's website is telling.
The raw meat diets like the Primal diet of Aajonuus Vonderplanitz sound promising, but there is the issue of parasites, poisoning, and straining the system with too much proteins.
I haven't read up on the Paleo diet, but from what I understand it is a little more balanced, including fruits/vegetables along with the raw meat. Same issues with the meat, and perhaps with food combinations?
The diets dealing with proper food combining make sense, except that many plants have both protein and starches.
Etc.
I went pure vegan for about 2 months earlier this year, then gradually ended up eating only fruits. I felt better in some ways, like mentally, but I was always hungry, weak, and my weight kept dropping. I also developed some constipation issues on the all plant plan. I did some light fasting and eating fruits inbetween, but I had to stop as I lost too much weight. I had to eat meat to bring my weight back up to a more comfortable level, but eating heavier foods like animal products makes me sluggish.
All these cleanses, herbs, and everything else are really helping me, but I can feel that diet right now is the main thing that is slowing down my body's ability to correct itself.
I don't think it's an issue of being damned both ways; I just have to find the right balance.
