We're in a drought V.

You can clearly see that central and southern TX is in a D4 - extreme drought. http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/DM_state.htm?TX,S

My little city, Lago Vista, just declared water rationing like Austin city. Understandable. Lake Travis looks like a river and includes islands. Pretty soon it will look like a creek. We aren't expecting El Nino to help until October.

My backyard looks like the summer hills of California. Golden. My front is all river rocks; so no problem there. Rosemary and lantana are very drought tolerant and deer tolerant. The TX purple sage bush is very drought tolerant also. The golf course, across the street, is not.

Poor little Liberty Hill told their residents no more outside watering at all; not even by hand. They say they have only a few feet of water left in their barrels. I think they get it from wells. They are trying to buy water; but no one has any. Just imagine the value of their homes now. Population 500.

LCRA has sold too much. Round Rock built too much residences; and made a deal with LCRA for much more water.

Not a pretty picture.
