Well I started shaving at 14 -- what I was drawing attention to was that my mustache growth was heavy enough at 15 that I was shaving every day. I've no doubt you've a much heavier growth than I have -- though mine is certainly into what would be regarded as the male range.

Yes, but for a start I was brought up on well water and on locally-raised meat in a remote area of small farms. And in any case most of those chemicals synthetic hormones would have tended to make me more female in appearance.

There have always been women who have had facial hair of almost male proportions -- it's just not deemed politically-correct to let such hair growth be known and acknowledged.

I wouldn't reveal the existence of my facial hair to an employer for fear of being stigmatized. But nor do I treat it as a guilty secret. I've been hurt in the past by the reaction of several women who've found out, so I don't now tell my women friends. Men who have found out have all been extremely nice about it -- interested, but not nasty.

I didn't choose to have this facial hair -- but it's a reality and I might as well acknowledge that what I have is, essentially, mustache and beard growth. As far as I can see it's not caused by outside influences. One of my sisters has a mustache of similar proportions, but the other four sisters have no signficant facial hair.
