Yes with the Water Fast I have tried, and tried, and tried... and of course failed. I decided juicing would be so much easier for me, and if I wanted I could Water Fast for a day a week, which seems so much easier for me. I hope you will be able to make it past that first week. Anyone that can Water Fast is an inspiration for me! Good luck.
