It's an all too common scam.  The same thing happens with those "free" male enhancement products that foul the airwaves.  Not sure if they help with sex, but people who go for it definitely get "screwed".

Nothing "free" should ever require a credit card or banking information, something that should never be given out to anyone on the net or phone unless you are certain they are trustworthy.  And if they say you will only pay shipping and handling, find out how much and insist on sending a money order if you still want to go for it.
