First obvious thing, and this is hardly a news flash, is that many around me, mainly me since I am the center of my own universe, feels change. What is imperative is to review what is change brought on by too much TV, not me watching it which I hardly do, but living in a world where people get their everything from outside influences like TV, and we get bounced along like unwilling but numbed up pinballs. The best is when talking with people, and they are an endless stream of cliches because the lack original thought.

Parrots are pretty, but caution! when engaging with folks who have managed to not think things through for themselves. I don't have a sense of confidence that these types of folks are also mirrors or crystals of real change. I know a very fine couple. They are fundamentalists. Evangelicals. He had been less than healthy for quite awhile. He is also a money manager, and had lost a great deal in the markets. The talk always came to The Rapture. Recently, he has been feeling better and better. The degree of health, physical and financial, corresponds to the amount of Rapture talk. Today there is hardly a mention of it. He is also getting around fairly well too. Which makes my point.

Then there is simple natural order. We're having for instance an unusual winter, spring and summer. Except, we're not. This is more typical, only that people are responding to it like it is BIG CHANGE. It ain't. The weather we are having is more the norm. So sensing normal vs. knee jerk sky is falling... might be a good thing.

That leaves, real change. Being able to discern. That would be a big first thing. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many folks are grabbing at straws, assigning all kinds of wild hairy things to unnatural influences and plain and simple normal things. Discern, discern.

So what's really going on? Um, I don't really know. Do I think something is going on... a change? Yup. Am ultra cautious about assigning it to scripture, to the Mayan calendar, the Hopi, the neighborhood parlor mystic. Do I feel there is some kind of awakening? Yes. Am trying to recall who, Ms H?, Trapper?, who created an examination of the diachotomy. That there will be those that tend TO the change, and others who cannot hang with it. Hardly deep idea. And this would be blown out of the water if change involves getting smacked by an otherwordly object that causes instant change for everyone.

But after all this typing, the thing that at least I sense the most is this dichotomy. Who is drawn towards change, and who have fear. This perhaps is the first, largest aspect of whatever is going on. Hardly earth shattering analysis. But this is where ideas, opinions, spring from for me. Personally, I am drawn TO the change. It is not only not scary. It is scintillating. Ergo, I find myself drawn to those who are drawn to the change.

None of this is original thought fer sure. But it is a place at least for me to start in a response to the thread. Next post, will try to apply a little deeper thought.
