re osteoporosis, critical is the osteoclast/osteoblast equilibrium, not so much as calcium intake, as plasma levels of calcium are typically maintained around just 100ppm regardless of intake. The o/o equilibrium is what must be balanced or maintained, not mineral intake by drinking lime, akin to adjusting the pH of a swimming pool by additives. "Body pH" is a senseless term, since there is no one body pH, rather, the pH levels in various bodily compartments are different and taking an average of them is of no value whatsoever and the whole notion of "body pH" and any arguments or conclusions based on it are pure bunk. A good place to begin on the osteoclast/osteoblast equilibrium is investigating the effect of catalyst (enzyme) poisons, including without limitation fluoride species, on that equilibrium.
