I want the debate to focus on one issue at a time and resolve or agree to disagree. Jumping around to 5-6 different subjects does not resolve anything.

You said: "I believe this somewhat boils down to what you want to believe."

This is a major difference. It is not a matter of belief or disbelief to me. It is a matter of evidence backed up by a predictive theory. If the evidence and predictive power of the Theory of Evolution fails, then either the theory must be modified or discarded. This is true for any theory in science.

The Theory of Gravity had a serious problem predicting the path of Mercury as discovered in 1879. Mercury had an unusual wobble. This problem was ignored by the lay pubic. Some scientist thought there was an extra planet (Vulcan). There were several ad hoc hypotheses thrown around. It took a whole new theory to account for that wobble -- Theory of Relativity. Today, our GPS systems cannot rely on plain Newtonian gravity, we must use the modified version of gravity, Theory of Relativity.

In the end, a theory must be have testable predictions that can be falsified. The methods of the theory should be published in a peer-reviewed journal. The results of the methods should have an error rate to evaluate the results. The methods should be accepted within the relevant scientific community.

The Theory of Evolution fits the above requirements. The ID vs evolution controversy is a public relations problem, not a scientific problem. That is why the Discovery Institute is changing their requirements of ID from Irreducible Complexity (it failed per TTSS) to Information Theory. That is the basis of the book by Myers. Myers and the Discovery Institute is excellent in the PR, but fails miserably in the science. That is why Myers is putting the book out to the public, bypassing peer-review. I must say, Myers is persistent.

For you, is it a matter of belief or is it a matter of evidence?

No, I have read that book yet. It is on my to do readings. I am presently reading two books. Did you look into the Chaos book I suggested:

This one may be more up to date. I have not read it:
