I am reading The pH Miracle for Diabetes, and it discusses insulin resistance as well. I have had a similar experience with the lack of weight loss due to insulin resistance, and the continually creeping up weight. Take it from me, do something now because it doesn't stop. I am currently at 250 pounds, although I have eaten a horrific diet to get here. Atkins, Master Cleanser, etc., etc. have not worked for me. They all work for a couple of days and then stop. After reading pH Miracle, I wonder if the reason is that I am too acidic and the fat is being used to buffer my system. For example, I too used to exercise 2-3 hours a day, with no weight loss and even weight gain. According to pH Miracle, exercise creates acid which makes it difficult to lose weight due to the body's acidic condition. I am going to try this pH balancing program to see if it can help in the weight loss department, thus putting me on the path toward cleansing the system and getting rid of the PCOS. Also, the author, Robert Young says that diabetes and other insulin problems are created by the acidic condition of the body -- the cells of the pancreas are damaged by the acid. Not sure if any of this is true, but am willing to give it a go. Five years ago I went on a low glycemic diet that was also low in protein (eating mostly vegetables), and I remember losing tons of weight easily and feeling incredible. I am going to give it another go along with some pH balancing supplements.
