Have you ever tried to quit? I'm a smoker, too(ex, although I'll always refer to myself as a smoker, because I love it, too, for the reasons you mention).
I quit at least 10 times before it stuck. I quit for a couple of YEARS and started again- it's that powerful.
I have no idea what the best method for quitting is, when I finally really quit(5-6 years ago..?) it was cold turkey, but prior to quitting I had weaned myself down to 3-4 cigs per day. So the actual quitting was not that difficult. No huge anxiety issues...
So my best advice is don't give up, ever. Failure is not permanent.
This might make you want to quit even more...when I quit, for about 2 mos, I had a new zit every day. pustules. I dunno whether it was impurities from the tobacco smoke in my skin or, as we CZ-ers know, liver problems, but it was gross.
Ooh! I was reading on Mr. T's forum that nicotine is an anti-inflammatory...so, when I quit all the suppressed inflammation came to a head? Anyway, that was blessedly temporary. If it had persisted I would have started smoking again. Vain I am:)
