Good concerns!

1. Epsom Salt is not true salt at all, it's magnesium sulphate, and it is commonly recommended as an addition to coffee enemas (and liver flushing) by a vast majority of natural healers & naturopaths.

2. A person with functioning, healthy kidneys will not have ANY trouble with a bit of ES occasionally for flushing and cleansing...ESPECIALLY if they keep themselves well hydrated. I am familar with the posts on the Liver Flush Forum , and the person that started that thread (if I'm remembering correctly) had experienced kidney issues before he started using ES, and then his kidney issues became slightly more significant. I recall that he was a 'newbie' into the world of natural health and healing, yet posting as though he was some type of an expert (and even identified himself as an MD/PhD when he wasn't to try to make his point...and then came back a few weeks later and changed his user ID)...when in reality, he'd researched FAR too little and jumped in WAY too quickly (at extremes), and started to see the results of his folly. Because Epsom Salts do indeed, draw water from the body into the intestines, ES can be dehydrating (which does place some stress on the kidneys, of course)...but unless there's a significant kidney issues, the use of ES in flusing procedures and coffee enemas is very safe & positive.

You're doing great already! Just relax, take it slow, and do that rapid breathing through your nose until the need to expel passes.
