That certainly is a very detailed post! I really can't address everything you wrote, only the following which is just my two cents:
1) Don't yoyo diet! Yoyo dieting puts you at risk for heart attacks and strokes. Just look at the late Luther Vandross---he admitted that over time he lost and gained a total of 1200 pounds. He ended up with a massive stroke. I can give some other similar examples but I don't think it's really necessary.
2) Try to really limit---or eliminate entirely any meat products. For example, my husband and I have had success by being vegan 5 out of 7 days a week. On the 2 days a week that we aren't vegan, we have one serving of meat, fish or chicken. Some people can be totally vegan and be happy but we felt deprived, which brings me to the next point:
3) Don't deprive yourself! That's why so many diets fail. They're either too limiting or too draconian. When that happens, you start to crave that piece of cake or bowl of ice cream.
4) Be sure and get some exercise. It doesn't have to be a high intensity workout. In fact, trying to do too much at once has a way of discouraging people from exercising. My husband and I got on the treadmill and gradually increased our walking speed and gradually increased the frequency of the daily treadmill walks.
5) You mention eye floaters. Everything I've read on those tells me that they are not uncommon and generally speaking, aren't a major concern.
6) Scratches and cuts that heal slowly. Yes, that could be a sign of diabetes type 2. Have you had your fasting blood Sugar and/or hemoglobin A1C checked lately? If not, it's really a good idea to do so. In the meantime, keep a close watch on any cuts you get.
7) It sounds like you're taking many different herbs and supplements. If you are on any prescription meds, have you done some research to see if any of the herbs/supplements have any negative interactions with the prescription meds or with other supplements? It's really important to research any herb/supplement before taking it to see just what side effects it may have.
8) Good for you for quitting smoking! In the meantime, have you had any lung function tests? Even though you've quit, smoking in the past may have impaired your lung function.
9) One thing about herbs---not everyone gets the same results. Some herbs/supplements promise a lot of things. However, if you read any studies that have been done, you will never find any study that says "100% of those who used XXX were healed/showed improvement, etc." So...I think it's often a matter of trial and error and also realizing that nothing changes overnight.
10) Lastly, we can't discount genetics when looking at overall health. Some of the problems you mention come with age.
I, too, wish that I could see a Naturopath. Ideally, I'd love to have a doctor that embraced both Eastern and Western medicine, but...
Good luck with everything!
