Why why why do I always trust my vet?
It isn't her fault, it is their world of selling chemical insecticide and big pharm products to us. It is the world as they see it.
Like the hairdresser selling products. It is part of and a required part of their job description!!!
Frontline I assumed was causing my dogs seizures, which did stop when I stopped Frontline.
He gets so miserable from one little bite, even if the flea is long gone, so you can see why I get desperate.
So I tried Advantage this time, and yup...3 days later he had a pretty ugly seizure. Probably the combo of the Bordetella shot and the steroid for inflammation from his itching was too much for his little system, then put Advantage insecticide on top of that.
So I lost a day at work to monitor him, he seems fine now. I am about to give him a good scrub down and try to get any Advantage residue off his skin. I am sure it has mostly been absorbed by now.
I guess activated charcoal won't do anything, Advantage gets into the muscle tissue, doesnt' it?
He was so happy and frolicking around for the past few days, and now another seizure.
I warn people with older dogs about this flea medication business, it didn't bother him when he was younger.
