Re: the avatar--oh, so glad to hear it's not you! I thought, how tense this man looks, almost like he's feeling the effects of strychnine in the jaw. I don't knoe the film. Don't see much current stuff, never go to movie theatres-- though I used to love an old neighborhood theatre with the magisterial style of long ago that was around the corner form my house. But this was before I went through a bifg change and gave up a lot...

i know what you mean about straying way off the (well-marked) path, about truth-telling, eyes opened, and all.

As to the permaculture and the rest, (well, except i have one light-of-my-life son, now 26)I'm with you there.
