i have a suggestion:
grilled, baked (or pan-roasted) or even raw and marinated for a day or two, though i'd try the cooked first--portobella mushroom as a 'steak'; not that I like (or eat) meat, or am looking for a 'meat-tasting substitute', but rather because it satisfies in the way that people always feel a 'roast' of meat or a "good steak" does.
Delicious!
i love it sliced thin with a salad I make that's a vegan ceasar, (with slivers of green apple pre-soaked in lemon: they taste incredible after this--like some wonderful lemon flower). Good for maybe entertaining others who don't go for the good food thing, YET, and when you want something in the comfort food realm that's still very good for the body (and heart)
The ceasar dressing is tahini, lots of lemon, (maybe a bit or mandarine juice)a little water to thin, a tsp of good oil if you want it...garlic if you want it -- and then mustard. And mustard for the mushroom. mm
Or if you're really inspired, a fresh pear chutney you make with poched cut up pears, blackstrap molasses and balsamic, and a few spices, maybe some cayenne (only add it after cooking).
Only the best dijon though! (i'm still trying to figure out how to make it myself.)
Then if you are into a dessert that'll blow people away,
i make the most amazing cake you could ever eat (and I'm not a cake person-- rarely eat it:once a year maybe). this cake is more actual *food* than cake.
If you want the recipe just cz mail me.

you menu basically sounds wonderful
if you get to craving the sort of mayonnaise-y thing that can sometimes be so nice in, say, a cauliflower tomato salad, (esp. when it's hot) try tahini, thinned out with water and various citrus; just as a change, and to take the edge off the 'will power' thing. (of all the pure, plain foods)
Glad to hear you are taking the hemp...good efa's and all that. Borage oil is good too. And borage flowers -and leaves too, i think, are delicious ! And so easy to grow.
good in iced herbal tea. good in salads, good with cucumber, which is like a best friend to borage. you could make a lovely sald for your friends.
speaking of a good iced tea: sun tea made with karkady, aka hibiscus, (but not the wimpy western stuff)--buy it in a middle eastern or caribbean store, and add a touch of poemegranate molasses.
dive on!
best, Chiron
