I also read a website linked by someone which suggested that, while fasting, it is better to keep ones eyes closed, resting completely, 24/7.
Plus, drinking only water, sipping only when thirsty...and meditating/praying, focussing ON ones ailments, and using the energy of the laying on of ones own hands upon the afflicted area.
The 'prayers' suggested sounded suspiciously like 'affirmation statements'...which have worked wonderfully, and quickly, for me, in the past.
I have heard of similar suggestions, before...like the therapy of laughter, even when there is nothing funny going on...how one man got himself kicked out of hospital, quite well, recovered from a serious ailment, mainly by laughing as much and as often as possible.
Apparently, the very action of using the muscles activated in the motions of laughter benifited his energy level, and healing.
I have long wrestled with the ideas of purely 'scientific', physical causes of well-being, and 'illness'...and the 'placebo effect' of activating ones imagination in the process.
The 'placebo effect' is so real, and effective, that every 'scientific' study includes it...a percentage allowance for the 'medicine' to work as desired, simply because the subject 'thinks' it will...'sugar pill' or not.
I reason that, if the 'placebo effect' is true enough to be believed by every scientist, why not use it, first, in every attempt to heal?
More than that, why not consider the very mindset, vibration, of everyone the patient admires and looks up to?
Why not look at the lifestyle and words the patient uses, as a part of their well-being...just in case?
And, look to change the vibration or meaning of any and all influences in a person's life...as though everything, every influence, becomes filtered through a new and refreshing mindset...the patient's own new and up-lifting concept.
I mean, it's free, and I am not about to ignore a free therapy, which may be effective!
:D
