Hi Willow,

The video you posted was third party news. I know how easy it is to fall for that. I could easily post an article that would make you believe a lie. People get so excited when they discover an untruth that they will believe the story that uncovers it. Example. I once interviewed a used car dealer in a previous life. Told me he had a video surveillance system in his showroom (they were rare in those days). He used to watch people going into the showroom, then would listen to the conversation, say, between wife and husband.

He was very clever. He would hear the wife's objections, eg "there is a scratch on the hood, and it's dirty inside". Then he would go into the showroom after they had moved on from the car r they were most interested in and say "can I help you?" The guy would say "yes, we are interested in this car, can we drive it?" The salesman would then say "Oh that one. We only got it in today, but there are a few problems. We haven't cleaned the interior, and there is a scratch on the hood we have to touch up". He may also point out another tiny fault that they may have missed. By now the wife had 100% trust in the salesman, and the car was certainly sold, despite the fact the engine may have been useless. It's called a confidence trick. Or, you may say, the devil mixes lies with the truth.

I checked out snopes, here's what I found:

It's too complex to cut and paste, but I think some things are true, some things are not.

My friend did the same when he had a chain email about things you didn't know you could do with a mobile phone. Some were true, eg you can get the IMEI number (a unique serial number) by keying *#06#, but it also said you could transmit a car remote alarm signal through the phone. The last bit is nonsense, but the first bit is true.
