The point that some people may or may not have been an atheist, "Darwinian", Christian, Jew, Muslim, American, Japanese, German, or even a little old granny and performed evil deeds is a non sequitur. There are good people and bad people in the world. The abhorrent brains of evil people will attach itself to anything and twist it as needed.

Per the NOMA document:

The buffer between what is know in Science and certain religious beliefs is shrinking. Therein lies the problem with the debate of creationism and evolution. I may dare say that the buffer has not been so thin since Galileo day.
