I strongly recommend you to try Bach flowers. I had 2 kidney stones about 4mm. in the left kidney and had two painful episodes. When the Dr. told me what he was planning to do. Same things as you. I got really scared.
A friend of mine told me that this flowers essences were excellent for kidney stones. Y called the flower therapist, who prepared two small dropping bottles I took 3/4 of them and haven't had a problem again.
They are excellent, give them a try. !!!! Just for about 15 dollars, I got rid of them.
