#108005 says:

"you have yet to convince most people that one species evolves from another !"

Did you see the video on ring species? The video clearly gives an example of two species forming from one species. Another ring species is the Larus gulls. These species have already split into different species using the same methods as described in the video link:

BYW: The few lines I have put into this debate is impossible to convince someone of a major and complex scientific theory. If I can get some people to understand the definition of a scientific theory, then I will all be worth the effort. The words "just a theory" is like saying the Pope is just a religious person or Joe Montana is just a football player.

#108005 says:

"You don't know of the cosmic connection??? Its so often used to support evolution!"

What "cosmic connection"? I do not know of any "cosmic connection" used to support evolution. The only place I have heard "cosmic connection" involves New Age mumbo jumbo. I do not agree with most New Age ideas either. But that is not part of the debate.

#108005 says:

"And part of the problem with you people, the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing with this specialist mentality!"

I enjoy working with problems. Please explain. What is the problem? Are you implying that people should not specialize in their field? Should we have preachers attempting to arrest criminals? Or are you inferring that Science is so specialized that one field does not speak to another?

#108005 says:

"But at any rate I won't even try to convince you of anything!"

Please try to convince me. If you can show me convincing evidence of something, I will support that something. I follow the evidence. However, I do not follow the evidence blindly. I question the evidence. I turn it inside out. If the evidence is convincing, I accept it until new evidence proves it wrong.

#108005 says:

"But I must say you people, you modern day conventional scientist have failed to provide anything but a negative outlook on life! Doom and gloom is what you give us!"

First of all, I am not a scientist. Scientist are busy doing real science. I am just a country boy from Mississippi who loves to learn. I cannot fix your pessimistic outlook on life. I see life as half-full, not half empty.

#108005 makes several references to failure of evidence base medicine, industrial agriculture, the war machine, and global warming. Each one does have its own set of issues that needs to be addressed, but is not part of the creationism vs Evolution Debate ?

Mmmm. That is a good question. How does the attacks against Science tie into the creationism vs Evolution Debate ? That is worth exploring. What is your opinion #108005?

Taxation! There is something we can agree on. I believe the USA has taxation without proper representation. Sigh, that is not part of the debate.

Why are you creating an "us against them" type argument? Examples are: "I must say you people" and "us ignorant laymen" Let us look at the merits of both sides.

#108005 says:

"Your paradigm hasn't done to well this last hundred years or so! Can you blame others for looking for answers on their own and ignoring people like you?????"

I could give many example of the benefits of modern science. But I think it will serve to throw gasoline into a fire. What type of answers are people looking for?
