I thought Dr. Schulze grows his own yeast? Who KNOWS what he really does now???!!!! He won't publicize ANY of his formulas, nor will he give specific ratios, nor will be clarify the 'yeast issue. don’t think he specifies which yeast he uses on his website. He recommends Red Star specifically by name & # in the SYL manual . It certainly appears that in his "new & improved" and his old Superfood that he uses/used Red Star - the flakes look the same. The non-fortified brewer’s yeast I found at a local health food store is not tasty at all, so I went back to Redstar which is super yummy! I just wish they have a non-fortified version. If I ever find one, I'll let everybody know. I'm still juice-fasting, Day 47, sorta (had a few bite-size salads/fruits). Good job, Tierra!! After the 3rd LF (Day 27), things didn't seem to go very well.... LF seems to wear me out, with or without ES. I feel very weak, really nauseous, waving back and forth, starting to lose weight, poor sleep, undereye circles and puffy eyes. Liver flushes can be VERY Exhausting...but if the "underlined" lasts for more than a day or two, then you likely need to take a bit of a break and give your body a chance to catch up with all your aggressive maneuvers :) I'm becoming more irritable, holidays are my worst nightmares Pardon the phraseology, but (to me, too) holidays suck.. There were times I wanted to quit fasting, but I know the healing has just begin, I shouldn’t stop now. I don't know if I agree with that entirely. There's no reason you couldn't take a 3-5 day break if your doctor within thinks that's a good thing. Remember this is NOT about "textbook perfect" (that can ALWAYS get us into problem zones). Listen closely to your body. You're not going to go 'backwards' on a few days of raw/vegan eating...if that's what seems right to your body. I'm hoping it's a just a phase, it’ll pass, I need to stick to fasting until I’m completely healed. I know that my digestion and assimilation is still quite poor, with all the juice fasting and CEs I do, my skin and hair shouldn’t be dry at all. I didn't know that CE's had anything to do with dry skin - I'd get some Miracle II moisturizer/lotion if I were you - it's THE bomb! Esp. after LF, I’d get really dry, itchy scalp with lots of dandruff!?! Is that normal? nope. Generally dandruff is a fungus that is ultimately cured by the body becoming less acidic. 'Tis likely a true 'detox reaction' from all the toxins/acids you're releasing. I’ve been really gassy lately, explosive, high pressure GAS, esp., after CE or in the middle of sleep (while the liver is at work?) Yes, the liver being compromised and 'unclogging' causes a lot of gas - also the junk being dislodged in your colon. My husband asked if my anus has turned into a trumpet…… LOL! That's hilarious! I know that trumpet! To help with the gas, try some peppermint tea (just put the leaves in a pot and pour boiling water over them, cover and let steep for 10-15 minutes...don't boil the leaves, just pour boiling water on them - no other heat). And you can add a teaspoon of charcoal to every dose of IF#2 - that'll help adsorb some more of the toxins that are being released. As for elimination, the undereye circles and the slightly yellow palms are definitely not a good sign. The yellow skin can be caused by the carrot juice. I take 8 IF#1 a day, 1-2 natural bms and 1-2 CEs clean me out pretty well. I tried the AC poultice on the liver overnite. It didn’t draw out anything and still smells quite fresh the next day. I dunno what’s that suppose to mean. When I do the liver/charcoal poultices, mine smell 'fresh' the next morning too...but I can tell they really help my liver. I’m going to do the clay bath as soon as I get the clay. That'll be great. I did my 4th LF over the memorial weekend - a big 3/4" golden stone came out. Good for you (AND your liver!) That was very encouraging! Applause! Applause! Although I’m still experiencing all the aforementioned symptoms (you've come a LONG way, baby!) and becoming increasingly sensitive, my right rib and the reciprocal left lower spine are constantly feeding and yanking each other. I can feel every inch of the muscles wrapping around the spine are trying to release! They’re struggling and being held and locked by my right upper body. Can you get your hubby to do some seriously deep massage on those tight muscles? And don't forget foot reflexology for those muscles! I know I need to flush more often. Meanwhile, I’m hoping the milk thistle seed would come to the rescue and the BC&F tincture will help with the repair and nourish the damaged tissues. BF&C is great stuff...and milk thistle is fantastic for the liver (in a LOT of different ways). I finally realized superfood is the one messing up my taste bud; although I didn’t take that much of it, only 4-6Tbsp daily. With all the changes you're making in your body, you likely can't just blame the SF for the change in taste buds. Ours have changed many times, depending upon a LOT of different variables. Salt is particularly at issue. But, living solely on SF and carrot juice on those dreadful post LF days did throw me off balance. Solely carrot juice & superfood for more than a week, soley. ::::sigh::: I'm not even going to 'go there'. I need to slowly re-build my superfood tolerance Superfood isn't something you have a "tolerance" or intolerance of (unless you're having 'reactions')...it's just simple nutrition. and rotate my juice more often. PLEASE do start a more well-balanced juice/everthing regime. I’ve been cutting down on carrots and taking a break from all the herbs (except IF#2) as well as superfood for the last couple of days, I have to say I feel much less nauseous (stop detoxing!?!). I don't know if it's 'less detoxing' as much as it is stopping something your body seems to have had WAY too much of (carrots) & nutritional yeast. It's nice to take a break, reset, and re-start. Yes...and re-evaluate! Thinking back, my taste buds have really changed… When I 1st started IP, I didn’t like the yeast in SF, as I go deeper into IP, I wanted more and more of it until I’m totally hooked and OD’ed! Ya live ya learn, eh? We've ALL got to remember that when we first start juice fasting & cleansing that our bodies DO react differently as they get adjusted. When this happens, sticking to the program basics are essential. By adding/changing things because we think we know what is happening and what we think we need (when all we need is to just 'stick with the program' and 'see it through'), we can seriously slow down or negative impact our progress. >>> The Fourth Week and On
Continue to rotate the three juices each week as before. This program is life- sustaining as the patient is taking rapid-healing and wholesome food. If the patient desires more solid food, just add one solid meal each day. <<<< What is Dr. Christopher’s take on rotating 3 juices each week? Same as the first 3 weeks. One week of each juice (Sorry if it’s on the CDs, I couldn’t read them on my primary PC, drive compatibility issue.) Remember, this is Dr. Christopher's IP, not Dr. Schulzes...he didn't do mono-juicing - and neither did Gerson. Personally, I don't see the logic in it, and it seems nutritionally imbalanced. Of course, Dr. Christopher included daily slippery elm gruel (very nutritious) AND daily full body rubs with 3 different oils...and the produce then was MUCH more nutritionally complete. Anyways, I take minimum of ½ to 1 gallon of carrot juice daily. I used carrot juice as a base for all my veggie juice. I think that's a LOT of carrot juice daily...that much per day for one week maybe, but if that's what you've been ingesting every day for over 45 days, it's no wonder your hands are yellow. Apple, parsley, garlic, ginger, lemon I consume on a daily basis. The others I rotate, like the neutral greens (lettece, celery, cucumber), the blue/purple (kale, beets, cabbage) and whites (cabbage, fennel, potatoes). Those are all great! I've never heard of juicing potatoes, but if it works for you, then fine :) I take watermelon once in a while (with lots of ginger or cayenne). Other mushy fruits like mango, papaya, peaches I either eat (one slice) and put the rest through the juicer and mix with water; everything at very low rpm. Yeah, sometimes I eat some of the mushy ones, too. But I LOVE peach juice to mix with the others...yum. My dinner is usually a few cloves of garlic with some oil, lemon and black pepper (It’s kinda like Dr. Schulze’s mild LF w/o the water). I’ve been treating myself with a few very thin slices of raw potatoes lately.A few thin raw potato slices can't hurt you, but I don't know if they actually do much 'good'. ??? I’m glad to know about Dr. Christopher’s alternate meal plan… But, given my conditions, I’m really not sure if I’m ready to do one solid meal each day? I'd use the 'alternate meal plan' ONLY if you be SURE to chew each bite into total liquid. You NEED the enzymes for your digestion. And if you're not already, you should start "chewing your juice" :) >>> Gerson did raw/vegan (with raw liver juice initially, then a liver supplement after he discovered how toxic beef livers really are), with a very occasionall slice of rye bread & cup of yogurt. <<< Not familiar with Gerson's therapy... Is rye bread and yogurt okay? I love those! But again, don’t know if I’m ready, esp. for bread and diary. These were added ONLY "when ready" (I'm almost sure) - I don't think you're likely ready for bread OR dairy....and Dr. Christopher NEVER used any type of dead grain like "flour'. We're working our way off flour this summer. -mny, mny thx, tie many many 'welcomes - Uny
