Ya know, I think I'd call a plumber first before I just "automatically" started putting clay down the drain. I've got an old house with VERY persnickity plumbing. I've had to call a plumber out for putting coffee grounds down the garbage disposal, macaroni down it, brown rice down it, potato peels down it, cantalope seeds down it, for a little purse-sized Tylenol bottle falling down the toilet as it was flushing, for toddlers flushing an entire roll of toilet paper down the toilet when they were potty training, for heavy rains causing the sewer to back up, for the roots of my old oak trees growing into the pipes, for pulling a sewer pipe in the yard when we were removing a gas pipe out to the gas light out in the front yard... and because it was the fifth Tuesday in November or Hey, There's A Little Cash In The Bank, What Should I Spend It On Day. I bet I sent my plumber's kids to college.

Just be wise.
