I know that more and more young women are undergoing this procedure, but many of my friends are reluctant to do it, as I was. The ironic thing is that the two things I was most afraid of, pain and embarassment, were not issues. There was minor discomfort at the start, and lying on the table in a gown with a tube inside of you connecting you to a machine does give you the sensation of being a bit helpless, but these are things I didn't have a problem with. I think I am going to have it done again. I do wonder what would happen if during the procedure the tube were to become blocked. I guess it must happen once in a while.
