I definitely think I have candida. For me, it's the whole chicken & egg theory...which came first, did I have it when I got Mirena and that's what caused my severe reaction to it (one of the symptoms of candida is chemical sensitivity) or did the Mirena "push me over the edge" and cause me to develop the candida? I truly think it's tied in to all of this.

On a side note: I just got a book called "The Maker's Diet". It's about a guy who suffered from crohn's disease (and had candida), went from doctor to doctor, had every kind of test done and took every possible supplement with no results. He followed this diet (foods that God intended us to eat -- all organic, no sugar, no preservatives , etc.) and cured himself. I just started it, but wanted to share. I also met a woman recently who followed this diet and got rid of her candida.

As hard as it has been to admit to myself, I set myself up to fall as hard as I did with the Mirena. I wasn't taking care of myself...poor diet filled with sugars, carbs and processed food, not enough sleep, lots of bouts of Antibiotics over the years which led to lowered immune system, birth contol pills for 9 years before Mirena in addition to all the other toxins we're all exposed to every day...plastics, metals, etc. The candida connection makes sense to me.
