Yes, I agree that your friend can do this - although I think I would have him taper off of the alcohol a little at a time before starting the cleanse. Is this possible? I always taper off of caffeine, so that by the first day of the cleanse my body is already detoxed from it. This cleanse will be tough for him, but with prayer and lots of water and even the black strap it can be done. Please watch him closely though ... if this has been a long addiction he might need some professional treatment before the cleanse. I would even suggest a non-smoking AA meeting every day. Just my 2 cents.
