So when Hippocrates said "Let your food be your medicine" he really meant "let the study of medicine be your intellectual food"?

That's not only backwards but upside down and sideways too. So his point was really don't bother with any intellectual pursuits outside of medicine? An odd statement from the intellectually curious ancient Greeks for sure.

And you don't believe Hippocrates thought food had medicinal qualities? What exactly did have medicinal qualities in those days? Or was it all blood letting and leaches with him?

Sorry, nice try, but his original statement taken at face value couldn't be clearer or truer after all these years.
