Actually, the transverse colon has been termed the 'seat of the emotions'. It (and probably nearby organs) go right through the solar plexus chakra, also known as our third chakra.

Releasing old waste from here would very likely release suppressed emotions, if one is still carrying them here. Be gentle with yourself, allow the feelings to come, be expressed positively and they will move on.

If one already has history of depression, when they began cleansing some suppressed emotions will be coming up to be released.
