You won't know you have emphysema unless you have a spirometry lung function test. X rays are useless for determining this. CT is more diagnostic. But the lung test will tell you the condition of your lungs.

Many many things could make you think you had this disease including low level lung infection, asthma, being obese, heart diseases, or simply doing lots of exercise when you haven't done any for a long time.
