I don't believe it strengthens the immune system either, in fact if you take enough it may weaken it by destroying the chemical messengers that trigger the response or even damaging white blood cells.

Also even if it doesn't do this, taking it every hour or so may prevent the virus spreading, if you take it soon enough and so reduce the amount of infected lung cells producing the chemicals alerting the immune system to attack them, at the least this could prevent fatal damage
