It seems like your objection to the use of pickling lime is related to an objection about chemicals in general?

I see you mentioning artificial sweetners, and preservatives etc.

I would offer that all "chemicals" are not necessarily bad.

You seem to be resistant to growing your own produce or at least have a feeling that it is not practical for everyone.

This leaves you reliant on the quality of food available to you commercially.

Are you solely relying on eating more commercially available fruits and vegetables to improve your health?

How is that going?
