Hi Golthing,

I agree with you on most of what you said.  There are many views as to what Christians believe.  Most people think that the people mentioned in the bible were poor.  I see things in a completely different way. Christ came once for all to save us from many different things.  A lot of people think that salvation is just one thing, but its so much more than that.  

The gospel means "the good news" and what is good news to those who are sick?  The answer is you don't have to be sick anymore, Christ died to heal you. What is the good news to the poor?  The answer is you don't have to be poor anymore, Christ died so that you could become rich, and on and on but you get my drift right?

A lot of Christians think that Christ was poor but nothing could be further from the truth, all He had to do was speak something into existence and there it was, we can do the same.  I live my life that way.  If Christ was poor why did they cast lots or gamble over his clothes when he went to the cross.  The answer is they wouldn't have gambled over rags.  Thats nonsense.

Anyway, I believe Christ died for us to live through Him and in doing so we have freedom from bondage and that includes what we eat.  If we want to eat meat then do it, if we don't then don't do it.  Its a matter of an individuals choice what we eat.  Nowhere in the bible does it tell us not to eat meat but it also doesn't tell us we have to eat meat.
