Well estrogen is a hormone, your thyroid is in control of creating the hormones your body needs, if you thyroid is out of whack, so is the rest of your body.
A multi is important, it helps your body to utilize the Iodine properly and more efficiently.
Have you checked to see if your area is fluoridated? Do you eat lots of bread? Do you have lots of mercury fillings?
My husbands condition went from hypothyroid to hyperthyroid with the giant nodules that all happened after our water was fluoridated in CA which I believe was 2mg per liter of water. His progress was good but slow with the supplementation but seemed to stop when we moved here to OH a couple months ago, in fact his thyroid got bigger and he was taking the 6.75 mg of Iodine at the time. I found out that the water here has DOUBLE the fluoride in it than in CA 4mg per liter of tap water!!!! CRAZY! So that's when he was willing to up his dose to the 32.5mg, but note that he has also been taking, 1 multi (one n only brand) 3grams of time release vitamin c, 1 cod liver oil, 250-500mg of magnesium (depending on bowels), an additional 200mcg of selenium, additional chromium and vanadium...
I also take Siberian ginseng to aid the adrenal glands.
I'm surprised Dr. Brownstein doesnt have you on a list of supplements... it is essential.
I know you want to wait to see what he says, but you really should look into supplementing more. I have gotten 4 friends to also supplement what I take and they have also noticed a HUGE difference in the way they look and feel.
