I have something to say about this. I too did my own experiments on a bath that had feet in it and a bath that did not. Yes the water changes color to brown, there is scum at the top, bubbles, and a few particles of black sediment at the bottom of the no-feet bath. However, there was a lot more black particles at the bottom of the feet-in footbath. Additionally, it has been said that the real benefit from the bath is the negative ions it generates throughout the body as if you were walking on the beach.

I personally did about 10 of these baths at home every other day and by the end of this time I felt I had detoxed enough and 1 and 1/2 months later I feel ready to do my next bath. The ton of black sediment, and I mean at least a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of sediment that I got out through my feet in the early baths I did made me a believer. I had had a huge mercury load and judging from my health and wellbeing improvement during that time, I believe the footbath helped to eliminate it. The no-feet bath only had a few black particles/sediment at the bottom so it couldn't even compare to what the bath got out through my feet even though skeptics would say that the color change happens even without feet in it, they never address the sediment and black particle that are more previlent in the foot-in bath especially for a toxic individual.

The prestigious holistic practice I go to uses these as well and it is run by M.D.'s who would not put anything in their office that didn't work, I know them.

I always make sure to drink lots of water afterr the baths and I add minerals to it. Additionally I take probiotics after a bath because someone suggested that I should.
