Hello, I to suffered from Hypoposphatemic Rickets when I was younger. My parents never heard of it and the doctors really didn't know much about it. I went to serveral doctors before they discover I had Rickets. It was brought to my parents attention when I was around 10 years old and my legs were'nt growing straight like a normal person, but instead my knees grew inward. The doctor's treated me with vitamin D supplements and phospharous pills. These pills kepted my levels were they needed to be. I also found out that it is very rare in girls. Boys are more likely to have the active disese and girls are just carriers. I did find this to be true. When I was 20 I had a girl, and she did not have the disese, and when I had a son four years later he did. He is now taking the same medication I did. I am now 29 years old and doing great, now that I stopped growing, I no longer have to take the pills, which the doctor's thought I would have to take the rest of my life. So this is just a message to let you know that there is help out there, and if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. Thanks
