There are different thoughts on this. Magnesium has been shown in some studies to inhibit Candida growth. On the other hand certain forms of magnesium, especially magnesium oxide, can theoretically promote Candida by creating an alkaline environment, which promotes the growth of the pathogenic fungal form of Candida rather than the benign yeast form. If you are going to use magnesium supplements I recommend using acidified forms, which are better overall regardless of whether there is fungal Candida. My favorite form is magnesium malate, followed by magnesium citrate.
