I can vouch for all of this in my own experience.

I only ate "a little wheat" for a few years. It was amazing to me when I made the change to no gluten-containing grains at all. Even a couple of sips of beer would give me a depressive episode. Not the acute anaphylaxis reaction you read about, just my own personal reaction. I'd also get constipated for a day, and then when it came out, it was pale and compacted.

I am thankful I didn't have any pregnancy any earlier than I was meant to in life. My sister got pregnant when she was 18. She gained a ton of weight. I watched her suck down a whole pan of brownies once. She ate so much junk food, it was unbelievable. Then she developed toxemia and high blood pressure. She was on blood pressure meds and bed rest in her last trimester. I'm 32 and have had a much healthier pregnancy than she ever had. If it's supposed to be 42 for me, that would be OK, as long as I am fit for the task.

I remember having those feelings when I was incredibly unhealthy - I'm not ready for a baby. Looking back, I'm even more sure of it. I need to keep my mouth shut now, though - baby's not here yet! Lots of squirming, though!
