My realization was that I don't really enjoy frienship as most people do. I prefer meeting and having conversations with complete strangers.

Once someone crosses the boundary of stranger to somewhat friend, I naturally stop contact with that person.

Although, I do have a couple of people that I've stayed in touch with for many years.

I guess there are exceptions to my general rule.
