You need to stop beating yourself up because you did not make him gay. People do not choose their sexuality, they are born with it. I know this is really hard for a lot of people to accept but how often do you hear someone say I have always been attracted to the same sex as far back as they can remember? People often pretend to be attracted to opposite sex because of societal pressures, but deep down they are unhappy with the opposite sex. Wishful thinking is not going to change anyone's preference because again this is part of your genetic make up. They even isolated a "gay" gene quite a few years back, and it has been shown that levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin plays a role in sexual desires. Abnormally low levels cause people to be become sexually indiscriminant. They will engage in gay sex, group sex, multiple partners, necrophlia, etc. So maybe this gay gene is either blocking serotonin production or interfering with serotonin receptors in gay people. Regardless there is no evidence that people make a choice of who they are attracted to. That is going to be regulated by genetics and neurotransmitters, and not by actions that have occurred in their life.
