Thanks for all the great info.  Here is my concern:  The very nature of the hernia is that it has descended beneath the abdomen through a tear or weakened opening.  I can feel it between the very top of my inner leg and pelvic area.  Now, it has gravity and the rest of my stomach pressing it from above as well as the opening squeezing it.  Imagine a water balloon squeezed through a small opening.  It constricts as it goes through the opening but then spreads out once through - making it easy to force more of it through from above with strain from physical strain, poor posture (yep, the computer desk), a too full stomach, etc.  But how do you get it  back through the opening?  Hang upside down like a bat?  If that were somehow possible, then perhaps the torn/weakened area could be repaired and/or strengthened.

I am not trying to be a naysayer, just saying that from what I understand about the physiology of the injury the task seems very daunting.
