Wow, what an interesting post, it's enlightening and all the while discouraging to be honest. I have been fixtated on Water Fasting and reading this makes it seem really pointless (well to an extent since you've mentioned the benefits of WF). I'd like to get started on a Water Fast again but if it's only going to be slowing down my metabolism and going to make me gain more weight then I don't want that. I need a better solution. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is Nutritarianism? Sounds like a vegetarian diet. *sigh* I am frustrated with everything.

EDIT:

I just read about Dr Fuhrman and his diet, although he raises some good points I do not like the idea of eliminating meat and dairy. Sounds like a vegan diet which I'm not too fond. And of course you'll lose a lot of weight if you're eating only fruits and vegetables. Seems like all diets, once you stop you'll gain it back eventually, no different than a water fast. Sorry for getting off topic ppl.
