I know there are many parasites that can create extra mucous in the small intestine - that's what concerns me. How else could a child be already producing too much mucous? The diet doesn't support something like that. I'd wager enzyme content would be pretty low and that's not normal for a growing child. I'm betting parasites had something to do with lowered peristalsis and the mucous production. Wow - poor thing!
