Not sure what you mean by 'normal' fasting. But fasting with eatting (or food like juice/tea) will usually have way more ketones. You will be burning a lot of calories after all. Tell you doctor your fasting. If you mean Water Fasting then your ketones will be high for sure, very high, between 160-240 rarely 80, and below. Because you are REALLY burning calories. After you reach bmi of aoubt 23-25(which is skinny) it will slow down but the ketones are always high during a water fast. I know this from reading books, and experience from Water Fasting myself. Infact you can smell the ketones when they are high from water fasting. Just by smelling your wrist. I'm not a doctor but I don't see high ketones as a problem when I fast it is what I want! However if your very skinny you may not want to have them too high too long.
