Dear Friend:
I just found this forum and saw your message. My abusive ex (and ex's) are no longer in the house with me.
However, verbal hostility usually escalates to physical acts of violence, at some time. I have seen people get counseling from a good loving pastor, and do better...my younger brother, for one. But unless the man really repents, and gets a total life change from within, or really wants to change and works on it, he probably won't get better, but worse.
You've put so much into your property, it sounds absolutely wonderful!! I'm sorry his anger soils it like that.
Could you invite natural healing people to your house? And include an advocate for abused women, or a good pastor, among them? someone who realizes the situation and could deal wisely handle it.
Natural healing people bring a fresh breeze with them. And they would love your house. Your husband's abuse would look totally out of place...get my drift? And they would be a blessing to him, too.
Just an idea. You may have a better one, since you live there.
Write me any time. I'll pray for you and write back all I can.
It's not like I myself am abuse-free, my ex's abuse has infected my kids, and they can treat me pretty badly, but not physically, just mentally. Most are grown up.
But you hang in there, I love you with God's love, you are my sister.
