Unyquity,
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to post such an informative, helpful, (and philosophical response). I think that it is one of the most interesting and correct things that I have ever read. I definitely agree with you on many points. I think that some of my problems were caused by excessive pill popping in the first place, so I am finally trying to listen to my body and take it easy. (I can be added to the hair analysis list, I just purchased one of them today). Unfortunately my problems are not just exacerbated my supplements right now. I had a muffin which I assume had a good amount of Sugar in it today and it had an "adrenal response." I don't know if my adrenals are so worn down right now that anything that causes extra cortisol to be released gives me this type of response. By response I mean a mini anxiety attack, like an adrenaline release with the heart palpitations. I have been seeing an acupuncturist, and unfortunately even the treatment he tells me to do has also left me wanting. The weird thing is that through this I have been able to manage to keep working, and I haven't necessarily had classic adrenal fatigue. I feel overall exhausted, especially considering I have had bad insomnia, waking up every 45 minutes or so into the night, but I have been able to keep going during the day.
Modern medicine definitely has its flaws. When I had bad anxiety before my doctor put me onto Lexapro as a band-aid. I'm sure this is the case for many. Unfortunately, this obviously does not address the root cause, and indeed Lexapro and other SSRIs probably make you worse in the long run, especially when withdrawing. The best that I ever felt during any kind of treatment I have had for my adrenals, (short of being on hydrocortisone on which I felt like Superman again), is simply by eating healthy for a few weeks, not by relying on supplements. Although I always do eat healthy nowadays, I think that I still do fluctuate too much, because I have a bad habit of pill popping.
I just purchased the NuPLus and other Sunrider foods, so I am excited to try out these more food based approaches to healing. I am not sure if I will be pumping myself full of vitamins again. As you seem to have such a good handle on your adrenals, would you mind explaining your successful treatment a little bit more in detail with me? What is Schulze's IF#2 and do you think you could give me some pointers on how to deal with my health issues more naturally? I would definitely be up for a newer approach considering self-medicating hasn't been working so hot for me. I have done a lot of cleansing in the past, saunas, salt baths, candida cleansing, and this has all worked very well for me. I definitely think that detoxing my liver and intestinal tract again would be very worthwhile, and giving my kidneys a break is perhaps imperative. Thank you again for your consideration, I truly appreciate your help and advice.
